Melton South's local recreational scene has scored a massive upgrade with the arrival of a premium multi-generational play and fitness hub at Blackwood Drive Reserve. WillPlay engineered and manufactured the high-end equipment for this project, supplying a tailored community asset in partnership with Blade Recreation for Yellowstone Landscaping. Serving the Blackwood Drive Community Hall, a half basketball court, expansive sports fields and Coburn Primary School, this multi-zoned space is perfectly built to support active families and fitness enthusiasts alike.
The main attraction for young adventurers is the massive Giant Tunnel System. Catching the eye with its striking pink and blue framework, this unique play system offers extensive climbing challenges, under-net activities, a rock-climbing wall panel and dual open slides to cater to different age groups.
Promoting community health and wellbeing, the installation features dedicated WillFit fitness pods positioned along the reserve's walking path. One pod focuses entirely on upper body conditioning with varying heights of pull-up bars. The secondary pods feature advanced WillFit Core Systems engineered specifically to develop lower body strength and core stability, utilising step platforms, roman rings and targeted stretching benches.
True to WillPlay’s commitment to inclusive play, accessibility is embedded throughout the layout. A smooth concrete pathway links directly to a flush-to-ground All-Abilities Spinner surrounded by a wide rubber safety zone. The premium 2-bay swing set also incorporates a supportive all-abilities seat with a dedicated rubber landing pad. Complete with an undercover shelter, picnic tables and an outdoor Chess Table, this reserve perfectly supports active families and fitness enthusiasts alike.
