On Saturday, July 22, 2023, Bland Shire Council officially inaugurated McCann Park, a stunning gateway to West Wyalong that immediately captivates visitors and locals alike. Conveniently situated off the Mid Western Highway, McCann Park offers a diverse range of facilities tailored for enjoyment and engagement.
Gracing the park, beautifully carved wooden sculptures of a mallee fowl and a wedge-tailed eagle stand as guardians. Perched high, they harmonize beautifully with the park’s orange theme, symbolizing a community that's as close-knit as it is vibrant.
As children's squeals of delight ring out from the Mine Shaft Tower System and 2 Bay Swing, the All-Abilities Spinner makes sure everyone can be a part of the fun. The amusement continues with the Single Rocker, Koala Rocker, and 4x4 Car Rocker enticing kids into imaginative play. But it's not all play; we're honing future Mozarts with the invoke of musical sparks from the 16 Note Symphony, 4 Note Drum Set, and Slap Pipes, while the Speaking Flowers, 4 in a Row Panel, and Noughts and Crosses Panel invite gentle competitive spirit and collaboration.
