WillPlay proudly designed, manufactured and installed the exciting new playground at Pat Fagan Park, located in Coolangatta, QLD. This project was completed in May 2025 and aimed to create a dynamic play space that truly reflects its unique coastal setting. Situated near the surf club, the design incorporates a prominent Surf Life Saving Tower, sparking imaginative minds and connecting play to the surrounding beach environment. WillPlay's role included the design, manufacture, and installation of the playground equipment, shade and softfall works.

The playground boasts a diverse range of Willplay equipment, carefully selected to cater to all ages and abilities. For the little ones, there are accessible Play Panels and floor-based activities, while a Freestanding Slide offers a less daunting option than the main tower for younger children. The Swing area thoughtfully reinterprets the park's previous configuration, now offering two flat seats for traditional swinging, a parent-child seat for shared moments, and an all-abilities basket swing, ensuring everyone can experience the joy of play. The play structure itself features an accessible staircase, promoting easier access for children of varying abilities and accompanying adults.

Beyond the innovative design, WillPlay prioritises durability and longevity. All of WillPlay's equipment is built with durability and longevity in mind to withstand even the harshest coastal conditions, ensuring superior corrosion resistance and resilience against the elements. This is achieved through the use of Australian Made Custom Extrusion Powdercoated Aluminum for support posts, and stainless steel for support frames and rails. UV stable HDPE is used for vibrant, long-lasting plastic components, and dynamic elements feature 16mm Woven Nylon Gal Core Rope with Aluminium & Nylon Rope Fittings. Roto Moulded Plastic is employed for durable and engaging forms. This meticulous material specification means there is no need to upgrade to 'coastal spec'. The project also included the supply and installation of vibrant synthetic grass with rubber cushioning for a safe soft fall surface, sandstone blocks, and a shade structure over the play area.
