From tired to thriving! Sunshine Coast Council’s Orange Grove Park has been given a vibrant new lease on life through a comprehensive playground upgrade designed to serve local Palmwoods families. WillPlay drove the design and precision manufacture of this fresh equipment suite, creating an engaging, multi-generational play space that seamlessly integrates with its lush, tree-lined surrounds. Existing sandstone retaining blocks were carefully cleaned and relocated on-site, framing the organic bark softfall footprint while offering natural, casual seating for parents and carers.
The focal point of the revitalised reserve is a multi-tier play system styled with WillPlay’s signature timber-look aluminium battens, marine-grade components and bright blue accents. Engineered for growing adventurers, the structure challenges children to ascend via rock-climbing wall panels and inclined rope mesh scaling paths before choosing their exit down a double open wave slide or a high-clearance blue tube slide. Underneath the upper deck, lower-level play values are maximised with interactive sensory elements, including a built-in 4 in a Row gaming panel for ground-level cognitive and social play.
Dynamic ground-level and rotational play thrive across the surrounding footprint. Positioned on a dedicated rubber safety mat within the bark surfacing, a Rope Spinner gives kids a high-energy thrill as they test their core stability and balance. Nearby, a timber-look Double Swing set features both a traditional strap seat and a secure toddler seat. Built from high-durability, marine-grade materials, this upgraded asset ensures Orange Grove Park will remain a thriving community fixture for years to come.
